On Wednesday, June 16, 2021, the 2021 Paramedic Spring Continuing Medical Education (CME) and N95 respirator fit testing will begin. Both CME and fit testing will occur on duty, and in various locations throughout the city. Crews will be assigned to training locations by the Communications Centre (CACC) during their shift.
The CME will include computer, instructor-led and practical training components. Single-use earbud headphones will be provided for the computer portion of the training; if preferred, staff are welcome to bring their own headphones (a standard 3.5 mm headphone/audio jack is required). During fit testing, Paramedics will be tested on the new, Ontario-made supply of 3M 1870+ N95 respirators.
Single Paramedics (CME only)
In the event that only one crew member is required to complete the CME, every effort will be made to utilize the remaining (single) partner to create a full crew until the CME has been completed.
If you have any questions, please contact a Clinical Specialist at 416-392-3000 (press ‘8’ for Education, then ‘1’ for the on-duty Superintendent).
Sincerely,
